While sports sponsorships are a very usual phenomenon nowadays, used by many forex and binary options brokers as an effective marketing tool enabling them to gain exposure and a credibility amongst prospective clients, Cyprus-based and CySEC regulated broker RoboForex has decided to shun the big names and sponsor a small amateur football team instead.
According to the relevant announcement issued by the broker, the name and logo of RoboForex will be appearing on the t-shirts of the players of the IPA Limassol Football Team, as part of the sponsorship deal between them. RoboForex says that “Supporting the participants of an amateur football league is the Company’s conscious step to help and promote local sport, which is sure to be a better way to invest funds than to hold expensive advertising campaigns. Moreover, our cooperation with the Police Department is another sign that the Company’s activity is completely transparent and that RoboForex is striving to operate honestly and legally in all spheres of the modern society.”
Founded in September 2011, the Limassol Police Department football team currently competes in a local non-professional league and has the support of both the Cyprus Police Sports Association and the International Police Association. The team also participates in charity tournaments and tournaments for the Armed Forces, through the Cyprus Sports Organisation. Aiming to fight work stress through football and achieve self-fulfillment, the team members are mostly current police offices, while the team is open for participation by former police officers and their friends. The home of the team is the Yermasoyia Municipality Stadium.
