MT4 Forex Brokers 2020 List - MetaTrader 4 Trading Platform

When it comes to the choice of platform to trade, the majority knows MetaTrader4 (MT4). Indeed, the MT4 platform is the most popular and used software by Forex traders, throughout which the biggest number of orders are executed daily.

Overall, the MT4 platform brings leading trading technologies and additional services that simply deliver everything needed for the potential success in trading, while suitable for any complexity of strategy to either retail or institutional trader, professional or beginner. Due to its popularity, almost every Brokerage company offers MT4, yet from the company to another platform may feature some differences in its proposal. That happened as the broker can invest in platform development or not, offer a choice of additional features or keep them as an additional option for a trader with a fee. And of course, the main concern is to choose among the well-regulated Brokers only, as there are some unscrupulous Brokers that may easily fake its status of reliability.

As the name implies, MT4 is the fourth platform in the MetaTrader series designed by MetaQuotes Software Corp. It’s been in use since 2005 and is widely considered to be the current market standard for trading platforms among retail traders today. While MT4 was later upgraded to MT5, it never really took off except among a minority of traders who were unable to use hedging strategies in MT4 due to regulatory environments. As a result, MetaQuotes offered a re-design of MT4 that combined many features of the new MT5 platform with the old MT4 to create a brand new platform. In 2018, MetaQuotes stopped issuing licenses to new brokers wanting to offer MetaTrader 4 to their clients in an attempt to increase adoption of the newer MT5 platform.
